The next album, Foreigner, was a marked stylistic departure and was only a moderate success, and while he would have the occasional later hit he would never again reach the stratospheric levels of popularity he had once enjoyed during this three-album "classic period". These three albums represent the height of his popularity. This moderately successful album was followed by a trio of hugely successful albums: Tea For the Tillerman, Teaser and the Firecat, and Catch Bull At Four. Recorded in May 1972, it was the fourth of his "comeback" albums which followed an enforced period of absence from the music scene, due to a bout of severe illness, during which time he re-evaluated his life and his musical goals.įollowing his recovery, he released the album Mona Bone Jakon, an album that, by comparison with his previous two albums, showed a marked shift towards folk-rock. Catch Bull At Four is the sixth album by Cat Stevens.
